I recently came across a couple of websites, FlyL4L and Fare Buzz, that claimed they provided discounted business and first class airline tickets. They offer tickets for 50 to 70% off the retail price. It sounded too good to be true so I decided to put them to the test.
I priced airline tickets going from Los Angeles, California to Johannesburg, South Africa departing on June 1 and returning on June 8. Here are the results.
I didn’t find the amazing discounts Fare Buzz and FlyL4L promised though FlyL4L did have a much better price then any of the other sites I searched.
FlyL4L has contracts with many major corporations and manufacturers that purchase their supplies through credit card, thus accumulating millions of frequent flyer miles. The corporations and manufacturers then sell these miles to L4L. Subsequently, L4L resells those miles to their customers as first and business class award air tickets. So basically they book a rewards ticket for you.
