The Cotswold Perfumery is offering two creative Perfumery Courses – Level One, where you can make your first fragrance and Level Two where more advanced techniques are covered if you want to go further. Each course lasts for one day and is held at the Cotswold Perfumery in Bourton on the Water . The materials used are the finest in the world. No prior knowledge is required,
All the equipment and materials used on the course can be purchased separately so that you can continue creating fragrances at home if you wish.

COURSE DETAILS
Location: The Cotswold Perfumery, Victoria Street, Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire GL54 2BU.

Availability: Courses are held throughout the year. For dates and availability either see our website or telephone us.

Duration: One day, arriving 9:15am and departing at around 4.00pm

Restrictions: Minimum age 14. No wheelchair access. May not be suitable for certain allergy sufferers. If in doubt, please consult a doctor.

Qualifications: None required.

Group size: Normally 9 participants for Level One and 6 for Level Two.
Validity: A voucher for a one-day course must be used by the end of the year following the year of purchase. Up to that date, the voucher is fully transferable and fully refundable to the purchaser.

Soap Making and Perfumery Tortue Rouge

Using only the highest quality organic or wild crafted materials, you will learn the methodology of cold process soap making, together with the safety precautions. You will also consider different plant additives and their active ingredients, then take home the skills and recipes, so you can recreate your products.

You will also explore the various ingredients used in perfumes and understand how fragrance affects mood and wellbeing. You will create your own perfume. The venue is L’Alabrena, a one-time farmhouse that has been lovingly restored and fitted out to provide teaching rooms, en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant, riverside terraces and a swimming pool.

Cooking class: the class focuses on the art of fresh pasta making, ravioli, and gnocchi. This class is held at Le Logge del Vignola.
Following, Terenzio will meet you at Crociani winery for a seminar tasting of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Light lunch at Ortaglia with cheese, salami, first press Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Vin Santo with cantucci.
Relax, stay by the pool, or do some shopping in town.
Dinner at Le Logge del Vignola with the pasta you made, other creations of the chef included.

Thursday

Tour of Valdorcia with lunch in a wine cellar in Montalcino.

Friday

The morning is free to relax, stay by the pool, or do some shopping at the famous designer “Mall”, featuring all the Italian designers, and just a short drive away. Terenzio will assist with directions to the shopping Mall.
Cooking class at 5pm. Dinner follows with the foods prepared in class.

Saturday
The entire day is at your leisure. Suggestion, take a drive to Siena through the beautiful landscape of the Crete Senesi, noted as the clay hills of Siena, or catch an early morning train to Florence and tour Italy’s famous art city.

Check in and start your program on any day of the week.

Day 1: Check In
Check in, relax. Welcome aperitivo and introduction. The evening is free and dinner is on your own. The villa will serve dinner in the dining room; a reservation must be made in advance and not included.

Day 2: Vineyard Tour & Cooking Class 1
Breakfast is served.

Tour the property’s olive grove and vineyard. After the tour, you will visit the wine cantina, where their wines are produced – Premium, Reserve and Grappa, too! Discussion and tastings included with Fabrizio, our award-winning “Super Tuscan” wine producer and olive oil maker.
In the afternoon, meet in the kitchen for your Cooking Class 1. This hands-on experience, led by Chefs Simonetta, Melina or Antonella, teach you their Tuscan family recipes. The menu includes a first course, second course, contorno, side dish, and dessert. Dinner follows with everyone eating the foods prepared in class. Wine is included.

Day 3: Visit To Farmers’ Market & Cooking Class 2
Breakfast is served.
Morning visit to the local Farmers’ Market. Visit the local producers of vegetables, fruits, fish, game and olive oil. Piled high are baskets of the season’s freshest produce. Select the ingredients that will be used in class.

Choose a half day excursion to the medieval towns of Certaldo and Lucardo, touring the back roads of Tuscany.

The ancient Greeks were among the first to discover the benefits of adding herbs and spices to their food. This process was used not only to enhance the tastes, but also provided medicinal benefits. Greek food is still a unique mix of fresh, seasonal ingredients and a generous blend of herbs and spices such as thyme, rosemary and oregano, which grow all over Greece. Greece is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and has one of the largest coastal areas of any country in Europe, and for this reason fish is an integral part of Greek cuisine.

Day 1
Transfer from Athens airport to your accommodations.
Katerina Sakelliou will welcome and meet you anytime after midday; you have the afternoon free to explore Askeli, relax by the pool or enjoy the pleasures of a swim in the clear blue sea.
In the evening you will be a guest at the welcome dinner; you will be introduced to some of the foods that you will learn to cook during your stay.
Overnight.

Day 2
After breakfast you will explore the menus and recipes you will learn during you lessons.
Lunch will be served around 12:30 PM.
Following, time at leisure to take a stroll into Poros or a local walk followed by a swim at Love Bay.
Around 2:30 PM your first cooking lesson begins, followed by a late afternoon drink or a small siesta.
Return around 5:00 PM to cook the final stages of dinner which will be served in the balmy and relaxed evening atmosphere of the Odyssey Center.
Overnight.

Day 3
Early breakfast.
Walk into Poros Harbour to visit the fish market where you will pick out and select a range of ingredients for today’s lesson.
This will be followed by a visit to a local cafe for coffee and Greek pastries.
After lunch at the Odyssey, the early part of the afternoon is free for individual activities.
Mid-afternoon, begin preparing the evening meal from the fish selected at the market along with some freshly prepared Greek salads, fish sauces, roasted vegetables and herb dressings.
Enjoy dinner at a local Greek tavern.

Day 4
Breakfast.
Today will include a visit to the island of Hydra, with lunch provided.
Return to Poros, where you will have a choice of dining at the Odyssey center or at a local tavern.

Day 5
Breakfast followed by a free day to explore Poros Island, mainland Greece or to just relax by the beach or pool.
Lunch will be provided at Odyssey around 1:00 PM.
Dinner tonight will be either at the Odyssey center or at a nearby local restaurant.
Overnight.

Day 6
After breakfast, an opportunity to visit either your hosts’ lemon or olive grove to learn about the use of both ingredients in Greek cooking; a picnic lunch will be provided.
On returning to Odyssey in the mid-afternoon, begin your final cooking lesson, a Greek classic meal that might feature such items as Mousakka, Pistachio or Souvlaki.
Dinner will be served at the Odyssey.
Overnight.

Day 7
Depending on the season, today you will make some local visits to learn about the important seasonal nature of ingredients in Greek cooking. This may include collecting local herbs and flowers or visiting local farms.
Lunch will be provided either at Odyssey or in a picnic fashion.
Tonight your final cooking lesson and a wonderful farewell dinner — a true Greek experience with many suprises!

Day 8
Breakfast followed by transfer to the Athens airport. (Or, let us know if you prefer to book extra nights .
